Starter is not real-time and is not the most advanced integration — iCal sync can have a short delay at peak times. But to get started with your own live booking website, it is the best option. Once you have enough booking revenue and guests are booking through your site, explore Growth, Pro, and Elite — they include a channel manager that is more real-time and prevents double bookings in a much better way.
iCal is a reasonable starting point — it syncs basic availability but that is where it stops. It gives you no guest data, no booking details, and no rate control. It also has a sync delay, which means the same room can get booked twice before calendars update across platforms. A channel manager updates in real time, manages rates centrally, and tells you exactly who booked and from where. iCal is for getting started. Paid plans are for growing.
